Good Afternoon and Happy Monday!! I don’t know how the weather is around you but here in central PA it is beautiful!! The mornings have been nice and cool, the sun has been shining and those back to school routines are starting to settle in place. This is such a hectic time of year for everyone, especially parents! With school activities starting back up, evening homework, and early bedtimes, things can get pretty crazy! I’m sad to see Summer come to an end but I have to admit, I LOVE Fall!!
So here’s the deal…. regardless of what we sometimes tell ourselves, we all know that there is never a perfect time to “get healthy.” Think about it. We ALWAYS have an excuse! During the Summer months the classic excuses were:
“I’m going on vacation.”
“I want to relax.”
“There are too many holiday picnics / family get togethers.”
I really could go on but I’ll spare you! For Fall a lot of times I hear the “I’m busy” excuse. Guess what, we are ALWAYS busy! It’s just a different kind of busy that comes with every month and season. BUT, I have to tell you. I actually think that there IS a time of year that seems to be a bit easier (for lack of a better word) to change your lifestyle around for the better. You want to know when? Right now of course!!
Simple! Many schedule changes are happening right now. Many routines are changing and new routines are settling in to place. Maybe this year you are carpooling to soccer practice, band practice, adding on weekend football games, etc. With those different activities, as parents we have to adjust. So if your life is already going through a change and adjusting to a new schedule, then WHY NOT incorporate some healthy eating and fitness into your plan? I know I know. Right now you are thinking “how on Earth am I going to have the time for THAT?” Honestly, we just have to MAKE time for things that are important. It’s important to drop your kids off, pick them up, attend games and functions, go to work, etc. Your health is also important! Even if you aren’t a parent, life is just BUSY! If you don’t care for yourself then you’ll get run down and possibly even sick! SO much in life can come out of making good choices when it comes to your health and fitness.

Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered! I know first hand what it’s like to be that busy mom or that busy person in general. I can’t sit here and say that I have it all figured out, but I can tell you that what I do with my health and fitness is working for me. So why wouldn’t I want to share that with you?!
